Meet Greg Scott
Reflecting on a year of service in the 54th District, I've seen the incredible power of our collective hope and determination.
With your continued support, we can turn our shared dreams into reality, creating a future brimming with possibilities for all.
WHO IS GREG SCOTT?
A native of Norristown, Greg Scott was raised by a village led by his mother, Peggy and saw first hand the definition of hard work, grit and determination. His mother Peggy, active in the Norristown community instilled a sense of public and community service in him at an early age.
In 6th grade, Greg met President Bill Clinton when he came to speak in Pennsylvania. Greg shook the President’s hand and asked him about health care and education policies.
He challenged the President to put his money where his mouth is and shortly thereafter, President Clinton visited Greg’s school district to announce an education initiative at Norristown High School.

GREG’S PRIORITIES
-
EDUCATION
Education is a right, not a privilege. Every child has a right to a safe, rigorous, equitable, and fully funded public education. We need to fix educational funding to support our schools and our educators. If we don’t fix this, our taxes will go up. We must increase State Funding for education and develop a fair funding system to ensure that a child’s educational outcome is not determined by their zip code or race. Equitably investing in our schools boosts the economy and reduces crime.
We need Universal Pre-K and full day kindergarten for all. The data supports it.
-
PROPERTY TAXES
I support property tax reform to ease the tax burden of seniors and working families in our community. I will introduce legislation that creates a Property Tax Reform Commission within my first 100 days in office. We need to ease the burden on older residents and working Pennsylvanians; the people who need it most — not corporations.
-
HEALTHCARE
We need to expand healthcare access, not restrict it. Increased access to comprehensive healthcare promotes a healthy workforce and economic growth. My plan within the first 100 days is to introduce a bill, I will introduce a bill that mandates every health insurance plan offered in Pennsylvania has affordable mental health and substance abuse treatment included in their plan.
-
SMALL BUSINESS
We need to Grow the tax base by recruiting and supporting LOCAL businesses with funding, grants, and zoning.
When the pandemic hit, many of our small businesses were severely impacted and many of them are still working to recover from it. We need to continue supporting them by bringing back the Small Business Hub so that resources and relief are attainable and the processes are streamlined.
-
INFRASTRUCTURE
Our elderly, those living with disabilities, and our children must be able to safely cross the street. Making our train stations and bike paths accessible to everyone is important. I will work to increase state support for roads, SEPTA, traffic safety, stormwater and wastewater systems.
-
ENVIRONMENT
I will work to Invest in new technology, green businesses, research and sustainability projects like solar and electric vehicle charging stations. I will work to empower our local organizers and elected officials in advancing sustainable practices including fighting for grants and infrastructure financing programs.
-
RACIAL JUSTICE
Racially marginalized groups in Pennsylvania are more likely to face racially motivated discrimination on a daily basis. As a District Judge I saw firsthand systemic racial injustice. As a State Rep. I pledge to fight for social progress and true equality for all Pennsylvanians – no matter their race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, ability, or socioeconomic status.
-
LGBTQIA+ RIGHTS
All Pennsylvanians, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, deserve respect and protection under the law. Whether this is the right to healthcare, housing, or employment, I believe our legislature must do more to actively eliminate discrimination in our commonwealth. As your next State Rep I pledge to use my voice, platform and resources to ensure everyone is respected and represented at the table.
-
WOMEN’S RIGHTS
In light of the overruling of Roe v. Wade, women’s rights have become more precarious than ever. As your next State Rep, I pledge to lead efforts to protect my Mom, niece and all the women of Pennsylvania. I will advocate to decrease the gender wage gap, empower our mothers and growing families, and protect women from harassment and unfair treatment in their workplaces.
